2026-2027 Academy (High School Internship)

In this internship, you will assist with one or more of our Academic Year educational programs, learn about education and teaching artistry, and practice leadership skills! Academic Year classes take place weekly during the day on Saturdays and in the evening on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Start and end dates vary based on the day of your program.

Internships are compensated via credit per class that you Intern for. Please find more details on credit amounts below.

Teaching Assistant Internship

TAIs will work with professional teaching artists during CTM’s Summer Stage Program in one, two, and three week programs serving 4K-12th grade students. TAIs will assist with CTM Summer Stage programs by leading activities, supporting students, facilitating daily procedures, rehearsing and preparing productions as well as serving as technical crew. TAIs will supervise aftercare, where they will develop curriculum and lead activities. They will receive weekly career development opportunities, as well as direct mentorship from a member of the CTM Education Department and teaching artists, setting goals and working towards leading their own lessons in the classroom. This Internship lasts 4-9 weeks. Experience working with youth is a must. Theater experience is strongly preferred. Pay rate: $10/hr.

Stage Management Fellows

SMFs will be assigned to our 3 week productions during the Summer Stage. Stage Management Fellows assist the Directing team in running the day-to-day workshops and rehearsals of the show. During the third week, SMFs serve as the lead stage manager for tech rehearsals & the show run. Ability to take initiative, delegate, exceptional organizational skills, and interest/experience working with youth is a must. Knowledge of theater & stage management is also a must. Education Administrative Internship

The Administrative Intern will work with CTM’s Education Staff during CTM’s Summer Stage Program which consists of one, two, and three week programs serving 4K-12th grade students. The Administrative Intern will assist with CTM Summer Stage program by sourcing and organizing materials, facilitating communication across the department, and assisting with various other administrative projects.They will receive direct mentorship from a member of the CTM Education Department and join a vibrant and collaborative team. This Internship lasts 9 weeks. Strong communication and organizational skills are a must. Experience working with youth is preferred. Pay rate: $10/hr. Marketing / Social Media Design Internship

The Marketing/Communications/Social Media Intern assists our Strategic Advancement Department with social media posts, content planning & photography, some metrics tracking and account management of CTM Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and Instagram. Additional responsibilities include organizing photos/videos/media clippings from past productions, as well as writing items for CTM newsletters, press releases and website content as needed. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth arts education, knowledgeable of conceptual social media campaigns, aesthetically inclined, have exceptional writing & editing skills, exercise good judgment on posts, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Additional knowledge of smartphone photo and video editing, DSLR photography, and Adobe graphics applications is a big plus. Pay Rate: $10/hr. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Photography Internship

The Photography Intern assists our Strategic Advancement Department with capturing content (photo and short video) for social media and promotional materials during our Summer Stage season to serve marketing materials for the year. Must have their own DSLR camera and photography experience. Additional knowledge of smartphone photo and video editing, DSLR photography, and Adobe graphics and Premiere or iMovie applications are a big plus. Pay Rate: $10PHOTOGRA/hr. Graphic Deign Internship

The Graphic Design Intern assists our Strategic Advancement Department. Responsibilities include the layout and production of print and web materials for our mainstage shows and Education department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about communication arts, aesthetically inclined, have exceptional attention to detail, and ability to work quickly with minimal supervision. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is required. Pay Rate: $10/hr. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. High School Internship (Teaching Assistant)

HSIs will assist with CTM Summer Stage programs by supporting students, facilitating daily procedures, and modeling participation. HSIs will receive training from the CTM Education Department, set goals, and work towards those goals in the classroom. This Internship lasts 4-9 weeks. Experience working with youth is a must. Tech Theater Internship

Tech and Run Crew: High school interns support CTM Summer Stage Programs by modeling positive classroom behavior, assisting with student support, and facilitating daily procedures like drop off and pick up. Students can either participate as teaching interns, supporting students throughout their class experience, as Run Crew, supporting students through the tech and performance portions of their program, or as Wardrobe Crew, supporting CTM Wardrobe staff to pull and prepare costumes for Summer Stage productions. High School Internship Credit Program

High School students who intern for a CTM program are eligible for credit towards a future CTM program or main stage performance.

HOW IT WORKS:

Summer Stage:
HS Interns receive a $75 credit for each week worked (30-40 hours)
Academic Year Classes:
HS Interns can receive credit during our Fall, Winter, and/or Spring sessions. HS Interns will receive a $35 credit for one class (8-10 hours) or a $75 credit for two classes (16-20 hours)

WHAT YOU CAN USE IT TOWARDS

Tuition for Academic Year, Advanced Acting Company, or Summer Stage classes
Ticket Prices towards the CTM Main Stage season (which are located at either MYArts or Overture Center)

CREDIT TOWARDS TUITION

Tuition Credit can be used within one year of the completion of the internship
Tuition Credit can be used to pay for any Academic Year Class
No more than 50% of tuition for the Advanced Acting Company or Summer Stage classes may be covered by Tuition Credit
Tuition Credit will be subject to class availability

CREDIT TOWARDS TICKETS

Ticket Credit can be used within one year of the completion of the internship
Ticket Credit can only be used on regular priced tickets
Ticket Credit will be subject to performance availability
