About our Sensory Friendly/Relaxed Performances:

What is a Sensory Friendly/Relaxed performance?
These performances provide extra support inside & outside the theater to enable children on the autism spectrum or for those with sensory or communication needs & their families to be able to attend the performance together. The main goal of a sensory friendly performance is to create a space where youth and their families feel comfortable, supported, and free to be themselves. Download our FAQ Document.

What type of accommodations will be made to this performance?
We adjust certain sensory elements to be less intense for people who are sensitive to lights and sounds. The house lights (lights in the audience, as opposed to lights on stage) will be kept on at a low level throughout the performance. Music and sound effect levels will be lowered. The performance itself won't be adjusted at all!

What can I expect when I arrive at this performance?
- Download our Madison Youth Arts (MYArts) Social Story HERE.
- Download the Seating Chart for the Starlight Theater at MYArts HERE.
- Download the Layout of the MYArts Performance area (inckuding quiet area and family bathroom) HERE.

Can I attend, even if no one in my group requires sensory accommodations?
Yes! We welcome all audience members and strive to create a judgement-free zone.
