February 1, 2021

Dear Friends -

We hope you and your loved ones are well, and that you have had a good start to this new year. We'd like to update you on our current season.

Like everyone, we have been closely monitoring the status of the COVID vaccine and the implications of this to our return to live theater productions.  We have created numerous "relaunch" strategies and identified markers that we feel need to be met in order to put our shows back on stage this season.  But there still remains much uncertainty.

Consequently, and unfortunately, we will not be producing Stellaluna or Peter Pan this year.

When we announced these shows last summer, we held hope that by this date we would be able to plan on bringing audiences back into the theater again, gradually ramping up to fuller houses by late spring.  Alas, there is not enough evidence to support our ability to do this safely and responsibly at this time.

If you are a ticket buyer, we are offering two options: donate your ticket value back to CTM, or request a refund. If you are at all able, please consider donating your tickets. Your generosity will go directly to help sustain us during this challenging time. Please fill out this form by February 15 to let us know which option you choose.

Although we are not able to produce live theater this season,  we are staying active with online classes, programs and special projects.  Currently you can watch The Goodwin Project, a series of four plays by Idris Goodwin, for kids and young adults, designed to spark conversations about race. These plays have wonderful added content such as guided post-show activities, Q&As with the artists, and learning guides for teachers and parents.

And we will be doing more inventive and engaging work this spring.  Many of you watched or performed in our reimagined A Christmas Carol in December - thank you!  We'll be building on what we've learned about online productions and creating new work this spring. So Stay Tuned!

Once again, thank you for being part of CTM.  You -- artist, patron, young performer, student, teacher, parent, contributor -- give us hope and purpose. Thank you for believing in our mission and supporting our work.  By doing so, you are making a difference in the lives of young people: cultivating creativity, fostering self-expression, building community... and sparking joy!

Stay well,

Roseann Sheridan, Artistic Director
