Hello families,

Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey. We really value your feedback and took it into account for our decision making process.

Our primary concern is the safety of our students during the covid-19 pandemic. After careful consideration, we have made the decision to transition all our classes to virtual programming.

We are looking forward to welcoming your student to CTM in this new format! We have had exceptional feedback on our virtual classes this summer already:

"The renewed passion and excitement [my daughter] has shown over the past three weeks after class each day was so great to see! It was like our daughter had a purpose and an outlet again. We can’t thank you all enough." - a CTM parent

“It made me realize I can still do what I love even if I don't have access to a stage, because I still have access to great programs.” - a CTM student

Please note:
Classes will be shorter in length and therefore, tuition will be reduced. Visit our Summer Stage page where the prices and details for each class are listed individually (no need to re-register for any classes you've signed up for).

Are you enrolled in these programs?
Please fill out THIS FORM to make a decision about your enrollment (no need to re-register for any classes you've signed up for). We do hope you will join us! Before making your decision, please visit our Summer Stage page to view the new pricing/time of day and read our new FAQ page. NOTE: Please do not email our Registrar to inform us of your enrollment decision - please fill out the form instead.

Please note that our Summer Stage refund policy has been updated to allow for more flexibility in this time of covid-19.

Now more than ever, we are thrilled to offer a safe space to learn new skills, make new friends, and create art together! CTM is here for you during this time - please join us.

Hello Summer Stage Families,

As we move into Phase 2 of the Forward Dane plan today, we at CTM want to remain vigilant about keeping our students safe during the covid-19 pandemic while also offering select opportunities for in person sessions. Below is our plan for one-week programs in August:

The following programs will be VIRTUAL:
- Underwater Adventure
- Out of this World
- Costume Creation: 5 Days, 5 Plays
- One Day More: A Les Miserables Showcase

Interactive, fun, and unique! We're excited to share these adapted programs with you. Visit our updated FAQ page for more information about what these classes will offer.

Classes will be shorter in length and therefore, tuition will be reduced. Visit our Summer Stage page where the prices and details for each class are listed individually (no need to re-register for any classes you've signed up for).

The following programs will be IN PERSON:
- Sherlock Holmes (formerly "The Hobbit")
- How to be a Time Traveler
- The Secret Lives of Superheroes

We will be adhering to all county mandated Forward Dane precautions regarding COVID-19 for these in-person classes. While these may be altered as we get closer to the program, here are a few of the current regulations we are planning to put in place:
- Students will be in groups of 13 or less and will stay with their group of 13 for the full day.
- 1 teaching artist will be with each group and potentially 1 intern.
- Frequent hand washing breaks & hand sanitizer will be made available.
- Masks worn in transitions
- Social Distancing will be observed

Hello Summer Stage Families,

Thank you for your support and kind wishes for CTM! We have another announcement to share regarding our 2 week & 3 week production programs.

All 3 Week Programs & "The Lion King KIDS" will be VIRTUAL
Exciting stories told in new and inventive ways! We are transferring our three week productions to be shared virtually. Auditions, callbacks, scripts, songs, dances, rehearsals, and workshops galore! Visit our brand new 2-3 Week Programs FAQ page (based on your questions!) or our general FAQ page for more information about what these classes will offer.

Classes will be shorter in length and therefore, tuition will be reduced. Visit our Summer Stage page where the prices and details for each class are listed individually (no need to re-register for any classes you've signed up for).

The safety of our students is of highest priority, and we have made inventive and necessary adjustments (taking into account that singing in the same room as others is not considered safe at this time). We are excited about our innovative approach to theater education and hope you are too!

Update on The Hobbit
Due to rights constraints, we are unable to present a production of "The Hobbit" this summer. However, we are thrilled to share that we will produce "Sherlock Holmes" instead! We are still working out the exact details of support structures in place, as they will be in accordance with the phase of Forward Dane we are in.

Update on 1 week programs that begin after August 1:
We will make a determination by June 15 as to whether these programs will be virtual, in person, or a combination of the two. Please know that we will comply with the county's Forward Dane plan to make that decision and should in person classes occur, we will create an environment and take precautions to keep everyone safe. We thank you for your continued patience!

From March 26, 2020:

Dear CTM Education Program Families,

We hope that you are well and coping as best you can with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an extraordinary time for us all, one that requires considerable adjustments to current and future plans to keep everyone safe and healthy.

With that in mind, we have made painful but necessary decisions regarding many of our Educational Programs:
  • We had to cancel our final sharings for our Winter Classes.
  • All of our vacation day programs for the rest of the year (2 Create-a-Play programs & 2 Spring Break programs) have been cancelled.
  • Most recently, we cancelled our Spring Session Theater classes, including our Setting the Stage program.
Needless to say, these cancellations are heartbreaking and consequential. If you are have enrolled your child in a class, please consider donating your tuition if at all possible. Your generosity now will go a long way to ensuring our ability to continue providing life-changing experiences for young people through theater.

Here’s the good news:
  • Summer Stage is still a go. Sessions are scheduled to start June 22nd and we are cautiously optimistic they will begin on time.
  • Actors Academy is transitioning their final semester to a digital platform.
  • We are working diligently to create online experiences for our families & students in the coming weeks.
We believe theater is transformational. Through the experience of theater young people can feel validated, empowered, and inspired. We will get through this because of your belief in CTM and our mission. And we will look back on this time with tremendous gratitude for the strength and support of our community.

In the meantime, please take good care, be well, and stay in touch… virtually!

With heartfelt appreciation –
