Young Company Show (Yo Co Show) Audition Info

CTM is inviting young performers to audition for our Young Company Show. This all-student show will rehearse in Madison Youth Arts (MYArts) and perform in seven area community centers and the Starlight Theater at MYArts.

The 2023 Young Company Show is “The Surprising Story of Three Little Pigs!” Three trios from classic fairy tales (Three Little Pigs, Billy Goats Gruff, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears) join forces to rewrite their stories, ridding themselves of their respective villains, and create a brand new "happily ever after.”

Roles are available for 13 actors ages 10-14. This is a great opportunity for young actors to perform in an all-youth cast, perform in various places for younger children, and participate in the creation of the production itself. We are looking for great storytellers who are able to project, are comfortable with creative movement, and can engage with an audience. Participants will assist with creating props, scenic elements, and costumes. Participants will also assist in post-show workshops.

AUDITIONS:

  • Auditions will take place on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 10am-2pm at MYArts, 1055 East Mifflin St, Madison (Studio 1C on the first floor).
  • Auditions will be fun and participatory involving group exercises and some short reading from the script.
  • We will notify all who audition of the results by January 16, 2023.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

  • January 22 - March 5, 2023 = Rehearsals are Wednesdays & Thursdays from 5:45-7:45 pm and Sundays from 10:15am-12:45pm.
  • Tuesday, March 7 - Friday, March 10, 2023 = Rehearsals are every night from 5:45-7:45pm

PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:

  • TOURING = Monday, March 13 - Friday, March 17 AND Monday, March 20 - Thursday, March 23. Show times will be after school hours and may be as early as 4pm.  
    • We will tour seven out of these nine days. 
    • Touring locations are TBD - all will be within 10 miles of MYArts. We will coordinate carpooling to and from each location.
  • MYArts PERFORMANCE =  Friday, March 24 at 7pm
